Dr. Leesha Ellis-Cox
Dr. Leesha is a double board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric physician, wife, mother, author, entrepreneur, creative, and visionary. She is a leading mental health authority and highly sought-after parenting expert. She blogs regularly about motherhood, mental health, faith, and race at www.drleesha.com. Because she champions mommy mental health and well-being and desires for women to reclaim their identity that exists beyond the role as “mom,” she provides coaching and consulting services and hosts Motherhood the Remix, a virtual and live conference. She is the author of two books, Ditch the Mommy Guilt: A Blueprint for the Modern Mommy and a beautifully illustrated children’s picture book entitled The Love Garden. She has an online course for moms, Motherhood in Bloom. And, she is launching her latest offering, Motherhood So Black, the premier group coaching program that answers the question that all moms ask, “Am I doing this right” but through the beautifully complicated lens of mommying while black.
She is married to Kenneth Cox, the head cross country/track and field coach at Birmingham Southern College, and they have 3 energetic children ages 5, 8, and 12.
